Nov.1- Dec. 15. 2007. "CemTam+ST" is the unit name of collaboration between Tamaki Kawaguchi,
Charles Melton and Sachiyo Takeshima. CemTam as Tamaki Kawaguchi and Charles Melton started last February. Based on Kawaguchi 's transparent concepts with using recycled materials, Melton`s experience in casting mythological creatures in bronze and Takeshima`s experience as a professional gardener, we started to work together at the Kyoto Art Center from November 1st last year. The initial concept of this project was to make a space with transparent plastic garbage. The keywords were re-used, transparent, and communication; three artists working together for one goal. This concept grew to include other recycled materials and developed into an abstract landscape within a building on the grounds of the Honen-in temple, which has a beautiful moss garden. As our work progressed, the landscape grew from a concept to a concrete image. Regardless of our different paradigms, we worked together to create a landscape where people could walk into and be a part of. +++After show+++ Kawaguchi: I think transparency is a good way to expand space as people can see though and it is reused and it changes perspectives. I want to connect with the space between people and this transparency using reused materials. Ultimately, this work is completed by the people who come to see it. Copyright(C)2008. CemTam+ST.
